About
Hi, I’m Annelise!
I’m a Senior eLearning Developer, Learning Experience Designer and illustrator who believes learning should be thoughtful, approachable and a little delightful.
As a neurodivergent learner, I’ve spent years discovering how I learn best. As an educator, I’ve worked with learners of all ages, backgrounds and abilities. Both experiences taught me something important: there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to learning.
That’s why every project begins with a question: What will help these learners succeed?
Sometimes, it’s a story. I create narratives and whimsical characters that guide learners through complex topics, making information feel approachable and memorable.
Other times, simplicity is the answer. Clear, focused lessons and opportunities to practice can be just as powerful. Knowing when to add a little magic, and when to let the content speak for itself, is an important part of my design process.
And when I do create characters, I want learners to see themselves in them. Much of my recent work has been designed for people in Hawaiʻi, and I take care to reflect the communities, cultures and personalities that make our islands unique.
At the heart of it all, I want to create learning experiences that feel like they were made with someone in mind. Because they were.
